Dr. Gordon is an Associate Professor in the School of Communication, Information and Library Studies at Rutgers University. She came to Rutgers from Boston University where she was Head of the Education Library and Associate Professor in the School of Education. Dr. Gordon's research interests include: the information searching behavior of adolescents; the use of Bayesian statistics in qualitative research; action research as a tool for professional development; and multiple models of information literacy that promote knowledge construction.

The Center for International Scholarship in School Librarianship (CISSL) is the leading international research and scholarly center that examines the dynamics and impacts of school libraries on student learning. CISSL fosters the transformative role of school libraries in 21st century schools, their integral role in the learning fabric of schools, and their role in ongoing school improvement and reform. Founded in the nation's top ranked School Library Program at Rutgers University, CISSL provides the international community of scholars and practitioners an arena to develop and exchange research enhancing learning in school libraries worldwide. As the Associate Director at CISSL, Dr. Gordon concentrates on excellence in school libraries.
